Dividend Stocks

Dividend stocks are a great way to diversify your holdings, especially when the stock market is going horizontal or it is trading in a narrow range.  TopBookReviews.com has a web page that shows how 20% gains can eventually get you a million dollars as long as you  contribute $8000 per year to help compound the money.  Click here to see the layout of this plan.  One company below has been paying around 20% annually, but if the market ever decides to move upward for sure, the dividend payout will decrease some as the price of the stock increases.  You will win either way, though, through dividends or capital gains.

TNK--Teekay Tankers

This oil shipping company is currently paying a dividend of about 10%, but they have paid as high as 30% in the past.  As the price of oil rises due to increased demand from India and China, the stock price and dividend of Teekay should go up significantly.

AGNC--American Capital

This is a REIT that paid 21% in dividends in 2009.

NLY--Annaly Capital

This is a another REIT company, and the company pays around 17% in dividends.

MWE--Markwest Energy

This is a natural gas pipeline company that pays around 10%.  They are expanding operations, and they also work like a tollway.  Even if natural gas is low in price, they get paid well to transport it.

LINE--Linn Energy

This is another quality pipeline company, and they pay a 10% dividend also.
